Sunday, 20 March 2011

Turkish premier said that Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi contradicted himself.

When asked during the Jeddah Economic Forum in Saudi Arabia whether Gaddafi should step down, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, 'he has already gone through that phase. Gaddafi contradicted himself. Earlier, he said that leader of revolution was not a president to step down. Actually, he should have handed over Libya to someone who is officially in charge. I held phone conversations with both himself and his son on March 1 and called on him to respect will of Libyan people. But he did not listen. I hope that this bloody period will come to an end in Libya as soon as possible.'"
