As regards Turkey, in my view, the Islamic factor there right now is greatly exaggerated. Firstly, when it comes to the “moderate Islam” term, this usually becomes connected to the ruling party, Justice and Development, with Tayipp Erdogan at the helm. However, I think this isn’t entirely correct, because Justice and Development has travelled a long path of political evolution. And in this connection, it is quite far from any association with Islamism."
