Resignations have started among public employee candidates who will run to become deputies in the upcoming June 12 elections.
Ankara’s chief public prosecutor, Mehmet Yücesoy, resigned Monday to run as a candidate for the ruling Justice and Development Party, or AKP. Turkey’s Melbourne consul, Vahit Özdemir, also resigned to run for the AKP."
