"Turkish Army arrests AKP municipality chief

Izmir–APA. Turkish gendarmes arrested member of the Kaynaklar municipality in Buca District of Izmir Region of Turkey from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) Mustafa Karagulmez.
APA quotes the Turkish news agencies as saying that 38 persons, including the municipality chief were arrested during the operations held by 400 gendarmes on Friday. The arrests were instructed by the Izmir Prosecutor’s Office, which accused Karagulmez in corruption, bribe, weapon smuggling, illegal tender actions and abuse its power. Files and other documents related to the municipal tenders were confiscated by the gendarmes. Searches were conducted in his house."
