The Atatürk Arboretum was established in 1949, making it a very young arboretum compared to the centuries-old arboretums in Europe. At present, the arboretum covers 296 hectares and houses roughly 2,000 botanical taxa, including a wide variety of plant collections brought over from different parts of the world"
