Adventures afoot in Fethiye
In Fethiye we are privileged to have a walking group led by Ali İhsan Emre whose love of the mountains and nature is positively infectious. He is always to be seen, dressed in green, sporting a pair of binoculars and his idiosyncratic hat. Like the pied piper he leads his motley group of walkers who come from every walk of life, up hills and down dales; stopping every now and again to spot a bird or identify a plant, berry, fruit or flower. In the summer months the walks are often punctuated with swims in the icy streams or finish on beaches that are inaccessible by road. In the winter months when the snow comes, groups of intrepid walkers can be seen whizzing downs the white slopes on sturdy plastic bags. "
