But this is not a novel. It is a real life story of my encounter with some Turkish schoolchildren during a trip to their country. And for me as a journalist, the challenge is to be able to make news or features or do an essay out of this ordinary experience and turn it into the extraordinary. That is what journalism is about—elevating the ordinary."
