"TURKEY: GOVERNMENT AND MILITARY IN 'TOTAL HARMONY' OVER PKK ISSUE

Ankara, 13 June (AKI) - The Turkish government and the military fully agree on how to deal with the recent upsruge of separatist Kurdish violence according to an outcome of a top level meeting between the two sides presided by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan Tuesday night. 'Our government and Turkish Armed Forces are conducting the fight against terrorism in total harmony and coordination” a statement issued after the meeting said. The meeting came after a series of PKK attacks in southeastern Turkey and amid rumblings from the military over a need to conduct a cross-border campaign in nothern Iraq to destroy PKK bases."
