"Turkey to bid for 17th Mediterranean Games
Turkey's southern Mediterranean city of Mersin will bid for the 17th Mediterranean Games to be held in 2013, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported on Tuesday.
Delivering a speech at a meeting held to promote the city's candidacy for the multi-sport games, Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said, 'Mersin is the pearl of the Mediterranean. Mersin's people have been lobbying to be the host city of 17th Mediterranean Games.'"
