In response to the narrow-minded view of the letter titled ‘Disgraceful support for Turkey’ (December 24), it sounds as if G Moss has fallen for Greek propaganda hook, line and sinker. I think it should be pointed out that Turkey’s intervention was its legal right as one of the three guarantors of the island. Turkey tried to persuade Britain many times to intervene and respect the 1960 constitution of Cyprus, but they were reluctant to intervene with force, which resulted in the mass murder of the Turkish Cypriots who endured it for over a decade."
