TURKISH CYPRIOT leader Mehmet Ali Talat is set to go ahead with the plan to dismantle the Ledra Street footbridge in open defiance of the Turkish military. One of his aides said yesterday that work on taking the bridge down would “definitely” commence today but flatly refused to say anything about the reservations about the plan, expressed by Turkey’s top general, Chief of General Staff, Yasar Buyukkanit."
