President Bush's new Iraq plan was announced last week. More than 20,000 troops to Baghdad will secure order along with the Iraqi army. On the other hand, the Maliki government will disarm the Shia militias based on a set timetable. The Bush plan proposes to tame Iran and Syria via threats, not negotiations. With this aim in mind, a new aircraft carrier and patriot missiles have been directed to the region. Meanwhile, Bush does not speak about the fate of Kirkuk, actions against the PKK or an international or regional conference about Iraq's security."
