"Turkish cinema's 92nd anniversary celebrated

The year 2006 marked the 92nd anniversary of Turkish cinema, marked this week in Istanbul by celebrations organized by Beyoğlu Municipality.
Events kicked off on Tuesday with a reception at the Pera Museum, where Beyoğlu Mayor Ahmet Misbah Demircan said it was among one of the municipality's most significant duties to celebrate such a meaningful event and thanked the artists who attended the reception. "
