The State Planning Organization (DPT) determined the “locomotive” sectors in the cities. While the clothing and textile products manufacturing ranked first in Istanbul, the furniture and motor vehicles were the leading industrial sectors in Ankara. Food was the most widespread sector throughout the country with 64 cities."
