"Our Hope Is That Turkish - E.U. Relations Will Make Progress U.S. State Department
WASHINGTON - The U.S. State Department announced they expect that the Turkish-EU relations would make progress within the framework of the work plan agreed on.
Upon a question on the current state of the relations between Turkey and EU, U.S. State Department spokesman Sean McCormark indicated that they have publicly stated their support for Turkey's beginning of the accession talks with the EU and proceeding along the pathway that has been laid out.
'They have a work plan that has been agreed upon between the EU and Turkey, and our hope is that the two sides would progress down that work plan,' underscored McCormack.
However, Mccormack reminded that the U.S. was not a member of the EU and they didn't have a vote."
