"Karamanlis: Turkey has failed on EU-linked reforms
Greek Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis said Thursday that Turkey had failed to implement basic reforms that need to be introduced before it joins the European Union.
He called on the European Commission to clearly state Turkey's shortcomings in a forthcoming progress report on Turkey.
'The truth is that, so far, Turkey has not taken basic and necessary steps on ... its obligations regarding the European Union,' Karamanlis said."
