"USD 4 bln outflows from Turkey in two months
During the fluctuations which began in May and continued in June, the net amount of portfolio investments and deposits taken out of Turkey by the foreigners was USD 4 billion. According to the determination made via the Central Bank data, the foreigners reduced the domestic borrowing securities and deposits in May and the net amount of the outflow from Turkey was USD 3.987 billion. The foreigners made a net outflow of stocks worth USD 82 million in June, while their deposits rose. While the foreigners brought USD 4.274 billion to Turkey in June for purchases of securities, they took USD 5.382 billion out. The net outflow made via the transactions of the foreigners was USD 1.108 billion in June. Out of this total, USD 1.026 billion were the domestic borrowing securities and USD 82 million were the stocks. The deposits of the foreigners rose by USD 1 billion in June."
