The U.S. administration is considering soon appointing a special envoy as a first step towards strengthening efforts to combat the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), The New Anatolian has learned.
The move follows Turkey's strong warning last month to both Washington and Baghdad to immediately and effectively act against the PKK presence in northern Iraq, and further cautioning that it is ready to launch a cross-border operation if the two fail to do so as soon as possible.
