"‘Turkey can’t approve customs protocol in 2006’

Turkey's Parliament will not be able to ratify an agreement with the European Union this year to open ports and airports to Greek Cypriot traffic because of domestic politics, a Foreign Ministry official said.
Failure to ratify the so-called Ankara Protocol does not necessarily mean Turkey will not open the country up to vessels from Greek Cyprus this year, the official told reporters on Wednesday, speaking on condition of anonymity. "
