One of the most-spoken issues on the agenda has recently been the possibility of suspension of Turkey’s accession talks because of the Cyprus case. The EU officials expressed that it might be possible for Turkey’s negotiation talks to be suspended if Turkey does not open its ports to Greek Cypriot traffic. In response, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan made an explanation indicating that Turkey will not retreat from its current stance against Greek Cyprus if there would be no abolition of isolations over the TRNC.
