"Cyprus protests EU-Turkey talks
BRUSSELS, June 9 (UPI) -- Cyprus blocked the opening of Turkey's negotiations with the European Union, the EU Observer reported.
Intense weekend diplomacy was expected before a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Monday, the newspaper said.
The ministers are scheduled to meet Monday with their Turkish counterpart in Luxembourg, to open the 'science and research' chapter of negotiations."
