The Serbian hatred towards Ottomans, and particularly Turks, dates back to six centuries ago. Turks, who had permanently settled in the Balkans for more than 500 years following Murad I's victory in the Battle of Kosovo, received the most destructive strokes in the Balkans that resulted in considerable loss of land for the Ottoman Empire."
