The bomb attacks of terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) unit the Kurdistan Freedom Falcons (TAK) over the last two weeks in Istanbul, Bayrampasa and Bahcelievler have again brought the spotlight on Turkey's security. There is an interesting custom in Turkey: it doesnt matter how important and critical the news and the events are, they are treated as if they were tabloid news and then left aside. Because of this custom, the solution packages related to Turkeys major problems are not discussed enough, and not questioned either. Surely it is very normal for a country which struggled against PKK terrorist acts for more than 15 years to feel 'accustomed and tired' to terrorism. But this doesnt remove the fact that Turkey faces a crucial and increasing terrorism threat. In addition, when we think that this terrorism wave also feeds such critical risk of ethnic conflict, it would be easier to understand 'accustomed and tired' and also what kind of contradiction we are in.
