British Gallaher Group Plc. has entered the Turkish tobacco manufacturing market as the sixth foreign investor, while the market share of state-run Turkish tobacco producer TEKEL continues to fall.
The appearance of foreign cigarettes in the Turkish market dates back to the early 1980s when importing, selling and marketing of foreign cigarettes was forbidden."
