"Turkey to reopen consulate in northern Iraq
Speaking at a press briefing in Ankara on Friday,Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said that Turkey would reopen its consulate in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul. Gul described the Kurdish-dominated area around the northern Iraqi town as a Turkish 'hinterland'. 'Northern Iraq is an area of interest for Turkey, it`s our hinterland,' he told reporters. "
