"Turkey shrugs off French comments on Cyprus

ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey believes France's recent comments that Ankara must recognise Cyprus before starting its European Union entry talks are dictated purely by domestic politics, Economy Minister Ali Babacan said on Thursday.
Babacan, who will head Turkey's negotiating team, also said Turkey had done all it could to reach a peace settlement on Cyprus and said it was unfair of the European Union to exert pressure for more concessions."
