"US State Department: We were not aware of news of PKK offices in Kirkuk
The PKK opened an office in Kirkuk, however the US officials says that they are not aware of the news in Turkish media about the office.
At a press conference yesterday, US State Department spokesperson Tom Casey, responding to questions from reporters, asserted that the US was not aware of the recent news of newly opened PKK offices in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, but stated once again that the US sees the the PKK as a terrorist organization. "
