"US Focuses on Cutting off PKK's European Financial Sources

While the Turkish government is mulling a military operation against the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq, the U.S. administration is suggesting non-military ways to reduce the PKK threat, focusing on cutting off its sources of both finance and propaganda support in Europe.
'The PKK has major sources of funds in Europe. We're still discussing ways to cut this funding with our European colleagues,' a U.S. diplomat told TNA, referring to U.S. Treasury Undersecretary Stuart Levey's meetings in Europe to combat funding for terrorist organizations, including the PKK."
