"Grossman: US should support Turkey against PKK
ANKARA - Turkey no longer appreciate the US support in Turkey's fight against the PKK, due to the U.S.' Iraq operation
Former U.S. ambassador to Ankara Marc Grossman told mass circulation Milliyet that the U.S. should have been more active in fighting the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). 'We came up with a very effective plan in the '80s and '90s to fight the PKK, and helped Turkey a lot,' said Grossman, whose tenure in Turkey ended in 1997. 'But later on we could have come up with a more effective and specific plan about what we could do in Iraq to fight the PKK. This could have eased the concerns of the Turkish nation.' "
