The entari was commonly worn by Jews in the Ottoman Empire in the 19th century. Part of a costume that is equivalent to a long, sleeveless dress with a low decolletage, the robe was worn with a blouse and skirt under it. In public, it was covered by a dark-colored coat, required clothing for Jews living in that empire. "
