The governing Justice and Development Party (AKP) has for the first time conveyed an official invitation to a Greek Cypriot political leader.
The Greek Cypriot dailies reported earlier this week the AKP's invitation to the main opposition Greek Cypriot right-wing Democratic Rally Party (DISI) leader Nicos Anastasiades and later confirmed the reports, adding that Saban Disli, the AKP deputy chairman responsible for foreign relations, had conveyed the invitation following DISI spokesman Tasos Mitsopoulos' request for a one-day visit. "
