Uncertain victory in Istanbul

It is Victory Day in Turkey, and size matters – that’s if you’re a flag.
It would have been nice to have known beforehand about the Hellespont swim from Europe to Asia (about 6km). It’s based in the town of Çanakkale not far from Istanbul and is traditionally done on Victory Day. My Achilles tendon hadn’t been keen on running lately, perhaps due to the extra pressure brought on by an overconsumption of Turkish food (they even have a local version of koeksisters).
