In his 1952 book “İstanbul Geceleri” (İstanbul Nights), writer Sâmiha Ayverdi describes İstanbul and the families who live in the city. Interestingly, some lines from his work, though more than half a century old, give a strong signal of the state the old city district of Sultanahmet is headed for today.
