Ottoman movie sector kicked off in 1896, says scholar
The footages have offered significant insights about the socio-economic and political atmosphere of that time
The collection called “Movies from Ottomans” has brought several movies that were shot by European filmmakers in Ottoman time to Istanbul. Giving a speech in the event, Prof. Peyami Celikkan said Ottoman society had first introduced with the movie in 1896.
