Has the Turkish state experienced a rare outbreak of probity, in recent days? You’d be forgiven for thinking so with the announcement that authorities have arrested the sons of three cabinet ministers and others for corruption. The privileged offspring and various top CEO’s had, for some time, peddled their access to power in return for bribes – so the charges claim. Bravo, right? Just because Prime Minister Erdogan espouses ‘pro-business’ policies clearly doesn’t mean he condones backhanded skullduggery. That’s what it shows, right?
