ISTANBUL–It’s Eid, and everyone in Turkey is enjoying a week off. And for a change, the government too can breathe a sigh of relief.
Partly that’s due to the U.S. shutdown, whose effect of delaying the end of government bond buying has money flowing more freely into emerging markets again. Partly it’s thanks to a tightening bias in Ankara.
