(ANSAmed) - ISTANBUL, SEPTEMBER 24 - Among many other projects, the Municipality of Istanbul has made plans to drastically revolutionize the city's transport system ahead of the next local elections. According to Milliyet newspaper, as World Bulletin website reports, the head of the Istanbul Municipality Kadir Topbas has already made plans to build a second cable car line between Rumelihisari and Otagtepe despite ongoing opposition to the one planned between Camlica and Zincirlikuyu. The two kilometer long line is due to be completed by the year 2023. More lines have also been planned across Istanbul including one at the Sabiha Gokce airport in Pendik, which will be nine kilometers long, and another 3.5 kilometer line at the Ataturk airport. Both lines are planned to be open for service by 2017. In addition to this, a tramway line connecting Edirnekapi to Vezneciler is due for the following year in 2018. (ANSAmed).
