Gezi Park protesters setup mini city

With the demonstrations in Turkey now reaching their second week, some may wonder how it’s been logistically possible for protesters to inhabit Istanbul’s Gezi Park for so long. What originally started as a peaceful protest over Istanbul’s last remaining green space, spiraled into an unprecedented display of public anger of the perceived authoritarianism of the Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan. And as the protests continue to expand, the park’s camp has been growing along with it.
