Day 13. Resistance? More powerful than ever. Government? Now officially stands for the word “fascism” in the dictionary.
Protests are continuing, so is the excessive violence of the police. Don’t be fooled by the serenity in Istanbul. Recently Taksim is like hosting a festival. When Ankara, Rize and Adana are battlefields. Guess which equations involves the police variable. The reason why the police is keeping their hands off Gezi Parki at the moment is surely not because they realized the people’s freedom of action. It’s because the awfully belated media had finally showed a crumb of courage to open their eyes to what is going on in Turkey and currently focused on Istanbul. The protesters increased, including celebrities. Protests are made in peace, they are decent and in fact elegant. Musicians and dancers started doing performances in streets.
