Social media may change the face of news
Anton Adamek
Whenever I check up on the international news, I am always reminded how fortunate I am to be living and reporting in an area where a civil war or major political unrest isn't taking place. In fact, I feel downright spoiled.
As a journalist who is just getting his feet wet, I view those who don the gas masks and bullet-proof vests as the epitome of bravery, dedication and foolishness all rolled into one. In order to summon the courage to step into the middle of a live protest or gunfight there must be a lot of adrenaline involved. They really must love giving people the news. Either that or they must have watched several Nike "Just Do It" commercials beforehand.
