Istanbul 2020 releases statement regarding protests

(SFC) The Istanbul 2020 Bid Committee released a statement regarding the recent protests in Turkey regarding its affect on Istanbul’s ability to hold the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games, seven years away.
“This situation will have no bearing on our ability to deliver our Games concept, which was designed after consultation with environmental groups and NGOs,” the statement read. “That consultation process will continue in partnership with the national and municipal authorities throughout the construction programme.
