Istanbul Protest: ‘Standing Man’ Inspires Standing Still Silent Protest in Istanbul (Video and Photos)

The Istanbul protest at Gezi Park and Taksim Square had been violent for the past two weeks.
But performance artist, Erdem Gunduz, changed the face of the protests as he stood silently and motionless facing a portrait of Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern secular Turkey. This act was a contradiction to the violence happening in Istanbul which had reportedly injured 5000 Turks.
