European Union condemns police violence during Turkey protests

BRUSSELS: EU foreign policy supremo Catherine Ashton condemned police violence in Turkey as anti-government protests in dozens of cities there entered a fourth day on Monday.
A statement issued by her office on Sunday said she had "expressed deep concern at the violence that occurred in Istanbul and some other cities in Turkey, and regrets disproportionate use of force by members of the Turkish police."
