Can Young Turks Save Secular Turkey?

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is in trouble with tens of thousands demonstrating in the capital Istanbul demanding his resignation while reports said that there were demonstrations in about 70 other towns last week. By midweek three people were reported killed, 4000 injured and 900 arrested. Around 50 lawyers who went to defend the arrested activists in court were alleged to have been roughed up by the police and lawyers were expected to come out en masse protesting the arrest of their colleagues. Fifty journalists are in jail.
