Turkey: September PMI growth remains precarious

Helped by its limited exposure to export demand out of the Eurozone, Turkeys PMI reading for September returned to expansionary territory for the first time since June at 52.2.
While not immune to the crisis in Europe and its effect on demand, in contrast to EU members in CEE the Turkish economy is dependent on Eurozone demand for exports for no more than 10% of GDP. However, sub-indexes within the HSBC Purchasing Managers Index illustrate that domestic demand a key buttress against economic slowdown continues to struggle.
