Turkish match-fixing scandal forces postponement of season
The Turkish Football Federation has postponed the start of its season amid an investigation into match-fixing allegations that have engulfed the country's top clubs. English-language daily Today’s Zaman reports that the Super League will now kick off Sept. 9 and the Bank Asya league Sept. 10. Both were due to begin early next month until federation president Mehmet Ali Aydinlar met Monday with the prosecutor heading the probe that has netted more than 80 footballers and club officials in the past three weeks, including the chairman of defending champs Fenerbahce."
