"Video: Kobe shills for Turkish Airlines, creates controversy
By Eric Freeman
Kobe Bryant(notes) is a divisive figure among domestic NBA fans, but he's perhaps the most popular basketball player overseas. As such, he's in-demand as an endorser for all manner of products apart from just basketball shoes and apparel.
If you don't believe me, check out the video above, in which Kobe goes to Istanbul for some unclear reason and decides that 'anyone can cook,' a line he probably misinterpreted from the Pixar film 'Ratatouille.' It turns out Kobe can't cook and the chef can't play basketball. If you're like me, by the end of the ad you'll wonder why Turkish Airlines has their chefs serve gourmet meals on the flights themselves. That would seem to increase their overheads significantly."
