Turkey: Erdogan: Fighting in Bahrain creates a new Karbala

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey’s Prime Minister, warned Bahrain about Saudi Arabia’s military entering their country during a meeting with parliamentary members of the ruling party.

He clearly stated that fighting between Muslims has always been instigated by outside forces and have always benefited outside forces. Erdogan said that he does not want to see anymore fighting between Muslims; he does not want to see another Karbala which will only further divide the Muslims.

Erdogan criticized Saudi Arabia for sending troops to Bahrain. He said: “Our stance is clear. We do not support oil wells; we support people, we support nations, we support democracy, we support peace, we support brotherhood. We scream out loud that a brother should not kill his brother.”

Note Turkish Digest : the youth revolt in the Middle East has not been instigated by foreign intervention. Mr. Erdogan would be helpful if he condemned ruthless dictators like Gaddafi, Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa, and  King Abdullah for their actions and support the movement for more democracy, liberty and less theocracy in the Middle East.
