Turkish prisoners are digging a metaphorical tunnel to the outside world thanks to Mahsus Mahal, a literature magazine for prisoners published every three months. “We’ve published works by 400 new writers so far. The works of some of them are in bookstores,” says Aytekin Yılmaz, who spent 13 years in prison and published a book from jail in 2001"
