There are only three chapters in European Union membership negotiations that Turkey is still able to open: competition, public procurement and social policies and employment.
Out of 33 chapters, 13 have already been opened and 17 are blocked. The competition chapter was expected to be opened this year under Belgium’s term as president in the rotating leadership system maintained by the EU because no obstacles remain in front of the chapter, just technical formalities."
